[ERO] Game News: this week’s releases, and a few new titles

On sale this weekend

  • Yuzu Soft’s E x E, definitely the week’s biggest release. Looks to be one of those super-popular titles that people like because it actually has some kind of story. Olf le Fol has a review of the demo up over at the Megatokyo forums for those interested.
  • Peas Soft’s Tsukushite Ageru no ni!, with the self-applied genre “school life adventure where girls who are your childhood friends devote themselves to you”. A wacky love comedy if I’ve ever seen one.
  • G Spot’s Futanari Clinic Karte 2, the continuation of Q‘s entry into the “snack-sized” Kyou no Okazu game line.

New game watch

  • New eroge brand Egis was launched recently with a flagship title dubbed Reversible. Its tagline is “when the night comes, the girls change”, and the gimmick seems to be full animation a la Erogos. This game is the first credit for both the game’s scenario writer and character designer, so it’s a big question mark at this point; we’ll be keeping an eye on it as it develops.
  • Leaf has an official site up for their new 3D RPG Kimi ga Yobu, Megiddo no Oka de. It’s hard to say where this one will go given the limited information and visuals we have access to at this point, though it looks like they’ve got a decent handle on their polygon faces (if not much else). The character and 2D CG art looks to vary widely between character artists, which could prove to be a liability as well… we’ll be keeping half an eye on this, but it will probably be better covered elsewhere.
  • New brand Eighth Note has a page up for their flagship release, Zettai Shiawase Sengen. It’s due out this fall, and while there aren’t even sample CG online yet the game’s theme song is available for download here. Doesn’t seem like an incredibly interesting title (to my hideously malformed sensibilities), but we’ll be watching at least until they put up some CG.
  • U.me Soft has introduced Asuka Nyuuten ~Club Romance he Youkoso~, a standalone expansion to their earlier released Club Romance he Youkoso. It adds a new hostess to the club you now find yourself managing, and I’m almost intrigued enough by the premise to look into the first game, as it’s apparently part SLG. Might revisit this at a later date.

And that’s a wrap! There are plenty of other games whose production we’re currently following, I’ll try to whip up a more comprehensive update post either tomorrow or over the weekend…

Shingo, have you played one of those 800-yen ‘snack-sized’ ones?
I’m just wondering how much content they have… estimate of total gametime, how many event CGs they have, even if they have any gameplay at all besides “Put it in.” etc.

I haven’t had the chance yet, sadly. I was meaning to pick up the package version of the first batch of three the last time I was in Akihabara, but it was nowhere to be found… the search continues though and I’ll report the findings when I manage to track it down.
Given the series title I’m guessing they’re not much more than “put it in” though, to be honest.
